This app provides a variety of ways for children to practice their spatial thinking skills. Spatial thinking is the math that is used when navigating, reading maps and diagrams, and following directions to put things together.

Learning Goals
This app is designed to help children strengthen their spatial thinking skills as they:
• Understand and use spatial relations vocabulary such as: in, on, under, up, down, by, beside, between, in front of, behind, left, right
• Use landmarks to locate an object
• Track directional movements and proximity to landmarks
• Use a model to represent real space
• Plan routes for navigating

Early Math with Gracie & Friends is a math-focused preschool curriculum supplement that includes resources for classroom and home use. Map Adventures and the corresponding hands-on activities were designed to support children’s spatial thinking skills. The Map Adventures app and hands-on activities are based on rounds of iterative research and development with preschool children and parents. They were made for parents and children to play together! Research has shown that the use of this app and hands-on activities help preschoolers learn about spatial concepts and improve their spatial thinking knowledge.
