It is the story of the two Tobias and the wonderful goodness of the Lord. The father, so holy, so tried, so patient; the son, also very holy, who serves as an instrument for God to put an end to the misfortunes either of his father or of his cousin Sara. The main end of the book is obviously to demonstrate that God sometimes puts the righteous in the crucible of the test, but that he then transforms their evils into all kinds of benefits, even temporal, when they have shown constancy and loyalty.
