The BayernCloud School video conferencing service, “ByCS-ViKo” for short, is a simple service specifically designed for school use.

ByCS-ViKo is used for direct exchange between members of the school community and supports different usage scenarios, e.g. E.g. committee meetings and consultations, class-wide conferences or the organization of major events.

ByCS-Viko offers a high level of data security and ensures data processing that takes place exclusively in data centers within the European Union or the European Economic Area.

With the ByCS-ViKo app, all functions of the video conferencing service are also available to users via mobile devices.

ByCS-Viko offers many useful functions for lessons and school life:
• Password protection: Each room is provided with a dial-in code. This prevents unwanted people from entering your video conference.
• Invitation links: (Personalized) invitation links for individual people, classes or groups enable individual invitation management and the participation of a closed group of people.
• Waiting room: With the waiting room, moderators can control the participation of participants. If this is activated, it is possible to allow individual people or all those waiting or to deny them access to the video conference.
• Screen sharing: Share selected content with everyone in the video conference.
• Group rooms: Distribute the conference participants in small groups across different virtual rooms in order to be able to work even more interactively and efficiently.
• File exchange: Convenient upload and download function – provide the participants in your video conference with accompanying material directly during the event.
• Whiteboard: Develop content together without having to share the screen – on the “digital board” or in existing documents.
• Manage verbal contributions: As soon as participants click the “Raise hand” button, moderators receive a message and can react to it.
• Live chat: Stay in dialogue and answer participants' questions easily via chat posts.
• Push-to-talk: Ideal for multiple participants or a noisy environment - the microphone remains switched off and can be activated briefly if necessary at the touch of a button. This ensures communication that is as trouble-free as possible.
• Telephone dial-in: Participants without a PC, laptop, tablet or a (stable) internet connection can also dial in using their telephone and take part in the conversation.
• Voting: ViKo enables quick surveys that can be created and evaluated individually.
• Subtitles: Automatic or manual subtitles can be displayed in a video conference for participants with hearing impairments.
