Upin & Ipin is a children's cartoon animated television series released on September 14, 2007 which aired on TV9, RTM2 and MNCTV. The series is produced by Les' Copaque Production. Initially, this film aimed to educate children to understand more about Ramadan before the film Upin & Ipin Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula was released. Now, Upin & Ipin already has fifteen airing seasons. In Indonesia, Upin Ipin Keyboard is present on MNCTV and is also broadcast on Pay-TV Stations, namely Disney Channel. The series is 10-20 minutes long in each episode.

Initially, Upin & Ipin was broadcast specifically to welcome Ramadan in 2007 to educate children about the meaning and importance of the holy month of Ramadan. Says Safwan, "Upin Ipin Keyboard started this four-minute animated series to test local market acceptance and gauge how we react to our storytelling skills." The lively response to this short cartoon prompted Les' Copaque to publish another season to welcome the next month of Ramadan.

Nizam believes that the Malaysian culture aspect of Upin Ipin Keyboard, which is set as a simple village, can definitely attract international market interest. As in the animated cartoon Doraemon from Japan, which is selling well all over the world, even though it is based on local culture and not international culture. Also, Les' Copaque's reputation as an organization has been known since the formation of Upin & Ipin's popularity, not only in Malaysia, but also in several other countries that import this cartoon, especially Indonesia.
