About: Japality Genomics Viewer

JGV (Japality Genomics Viewer) is a genome browser for Android. Open a FASTA on your phone, then add the tracks you already have. Files are copied into app storage and processed on the device. Japality does not upload your FASTA or BAM to our servers.

How to start
• Open FASTA (.fa / .fasta / .fna). A .fai index is built on the device if you do not already have one.
• Add tracks from Add, or pick the FASTA and tracks together with Open files.



• Pan and pinch a locus. Save a small JSON session of the locus and tracks to reopen later on the same device.

Supported files
• Genome: .fa .fasta .fna (+ .fai)
• Genes / features: .gff .gff3 .gtf .bed
• Alignments: .bam (+ .bai) .cram (+ .crai)
• Variants: .vcf
• Signal: .bw .bigwig
• Contacts: .bedpe
• Session: .json

Gzip (.gz) is not supported in this version. Open uncompressed files.

JGV is a viewer for genomic files you already keep on the device. It is not a diagnostic or clinical tool.
