The first revealed word from Allah Almighty was “Iqra”. Which means “read” or “recite”. It was the first word sent down on earth through angel Gabriel to our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him. “Surah Al-Alaq” was the first Surah. A message from Allah Almighty. It consists of 19 verses.
Surah Alaq has two parts. Islamic scholars say, the first part was revealed in 610. And the second part was revealed later on. It’s being said that the first revelation was in the cave of Hira. The time when Muhammad Peace Is Upon Him went for the worship of Allah Almighty.
This Surah was the confirmation that Allah Almighty is the creator of everything in this world.
