Montepío Luz Saviñón was founded in 1902 by Doña Luz Saviñón with the purpose of benefiting, through the pledge credit, to any person who has an immediate need for money to progress along with the people who surround it.
 Montepío Luz Saviñón performs acts for humanitarian assistance purposes, without a profit motive, and is administered by a Board of Trustees, guided by the Law of Private Assistance Institutions of the Federal District (LIAP) and supervised by the Private Assistance Board (JAP) with in order to guarantee the will of the Foundress and establish the rules on the management of the Heritage.
