Every seven years the Virgen del Rocío returns to Almonte to write in gold letters one of the most magnanimous Marian events of all those celebrated in Spain. The fervor aroused by the Image, together with the singularities treasured by a tradition that has been celebrated since 1589, make up one of the most authentic and unique religious expressions in the world. With this route designed by the City Council, with the contribution of the Matriz Brotherhood of El Rocío de Almonte, we invite visitors to experience this tradition in first person, visiting the twelve most iconographic points that the Shepherd follows in the journey of three leagues (15 kilometers ) that measure the physical distance between two iconographic points: the Ermita del Rocío and the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in the main nucleus; which, like an umbilical cord, make up the link between the almonteños and their Queen of the Marshes.
