Was your child recently diagnosed with a food allergy? FASST supports caregivers of children recently diagnosed with food allergy by providing information necessary for optimal management of the condition while also addressing the emotional upheaval caregivers often feel when managing a child’s food allergy.
The FASST app was designed to offer caregivers/parents current, research-based information necessary to promote successful management of food allergies. This includes understanding symptoms of food allergy and how to respond, how to use auto-injectable epinephrine, how to read food labels and how to discuss food allergies with your child(ren). Additionally, the FASST app provides short- and long-term coping skills for those caregivers who may feel stress or anxiety related to managing food allergies. Users of the FASST app can engage with short activities meant to address stress and anxiety in the moment, as well as learn about ongoing activities that may prevent or decrease future stress and anxiety.
FASST is intended for informational, educational and research purposes only. It is not a substitute for medical advice from a doctor or health care provider. Use of the FASST app does not establish a doctor-patient relationship between you and MUSC Health or any affiliated institutions.
