The Mughal Empire (Persian: گورکانیان‬‎, translit. Gūrkāniyān; Urdu: مغلیہ سلطنت‬‎, translit. Mughliyah Saltanat) or Mogul Empire was an empire in the Indian subcontinent, founded in 1526.
