This application was prepared for the Android mobile operating system by Raksha Prateek Jain & Henk Thoma.
It functions as the searchable mobile app of the printed Ladakhi-English dictionary Rang-Skat by Rebecca Norman, published in July 2019.
Every language deserves a written form and literature: this dictionary is part of an effort to promote the use of written Ladakhi. It represents more than ten years of consulting Tibetan dictionaries, the few existing Ladakhi dictionaries, dictionaries of other nearby languages, and people from all parts of Ladakh. This is the first Ladakhi dictionary to provide regional variations.
Furthermore, this dictionary hopes to contribute to a practical standardisation and preservation of the Ladakhi language and continues to be a work in progress.
