Upin & Ipin is a children's cartoon animated television series released on September 14, 2007 which aired on TV9, RTM2 and MNCTV. The series is produced by Les' Copaque Production. Initially, this film aimed to educate children to understand more about Ramadan before the film Upin & Ipin Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula was released. Now, Upin & Ipin already has fifteen airing seasons. In Indonesia, Upin & Ipin is present on MNCTV and also broadcasts on Pay-TV Stations, namely Disney Channel. The series is 14 minutes long in each episode.

Initially, Upin & Ipin was broadcast specifically to welcome Ramadan in 2007 to educate children about the meaning and importance of the holy month of Ramadan. Says Safwan, "We started this four-minute animated series to test local market acceptance and gauge how it reacts to our storytelling skills." The lively response to this short cartoon prompted Les' Copaque to publish another season to welcome the next month of Ramadan.
