About: Forest Operations Time Study

This time study data collection app was developed through an Industry and University collaboration under the forestproductivity.co.za platform. This application allows for effective time and motion studies to be done using predefined time elements for operations in both harvesting and silviculture. The application is easy to use and intuitive. The descriptions of the operations and the elements are described in the published ‘Time study standards’ on the forestproductivity.co.za web portal. This application development was made possible through funding from The South African Department of Science and Technology – Sector Innovation Fund, The South African Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and expert input from colleagues at West Virginia University and Stellenbosch University.
