NANDA-I Nursing Diagnosis: Definitions and Classifications eleventh edition is the definitive guide to nursing diagnosis that has been reviewed and approved by NANDA International (NANDA-I). In fact, nurses independently diagnose and treat problems of patients and their families, which is different from medical diagnosis. The NANDA-I taxonomy was developed based on global efforts.

In this eleventh edition, the taxonomy establishes 244 nursing diagnoses. Each diagnosis is the result of the work of one or more NANDAI volunteers, and the majority are evidence-based. Each nursing diagnosis has been debated and approved by members of the Diagnosis Development Committee (DDC), before being submitted for approval by NANDA-I members.

The nursing diagnosis labels in this issue are consistent with recent literature and human responses.
