The cancer follow-up app for the LESS study:
Were you diagnosed with cancer as a child or adolescent? During the treatment did you receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy? Then our new aftercare app "LESS" is just right for you. With the "LESS" aftercare app, you can find out which examinations are recommended after you have survived cancer.

* The LESS study Thanks to excellent therapy options, over 80% of children and adolescents can now be cured of their cancer.
As a result of cancer treatment, however, new diseases, so-called long-term effects, can be detected many years later and lead to a reduced quality of life for long-term cancer survivors. The occurrence of these new diseases often occurs a long time after the end of treatment and is determined by the treatment received and by the patient's individual risk factors. The late effects can affect different organs and range from slight restrictions to serious illnesses.



* Assistance with the long-term effects of cancer treatment. However, many patients are already adults when the long-term effects occur and are no longer regularly checked up in the clinic. Since most of the knowledge about late effects comes from the last 20 years, many of the previously ill patients have never been informed about their risk for these new diseases.

This is where the “LESS” aftercare app comes in. It informs you about which late effects can occur and which examinations are available to identify and treat them in good time. In the app, you have the option of entering the chemotherapy medication you are using and finding out clearly what aftercare recommendations can be derived for you from this.

Another addition to our “LESS” aftercare app is a chat function: get in touch easily and easily with other people who also suffered from cancer in childhood and adolescence and exchange ideas with each other.
