Surah Al Saff is the 61st chapter (surah) of the Quran with 14 ayat (verses).
Surah Saff is one of the heaviest surahs in the Quran dealing with the subject of hypocrisy andunderstanding the mission of the Prophet Muhammed PBUH to establish Islam in the region, this surah deals with the refusal of hypocrites to Prophet’s teachings.

This Surah is also called Musabbihat Surah as it begins with the glorification of Allah. The collective name of Musabbihat assigns to the following 6 Surahs Hadid, Hashr, Saff, Jumuah, Taghabun and Surah Ala.




It could not be known from any reliable tradition, but a study of its subject-matter shows that this Surah As Saff probably was sent down in the period closely following the Battle of Uhud, for by reading between the lines perceives a clear description of the conditions that prevailed in that period.
